Freelance Artist

Excel Sportswear is looking for additional Illustrators, designers and cartoonists to supplement our in-house art staff. Our specialties include Public Schools, Fire Departments, Police Departments and Car/Cycle Dealerships. We have a never ending need for original illustrations of Mascots, Cars, High School Sports action shots, etc.

The ideal candidates have solid illustration, line art, design and layout skills as well as the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of computers is required. Previous freelance experience and references are a must. The job details are as follows:

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Ability to follow specific customer directions

Professional illustration and layout skills

Solid background in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. This includes the ability to trace line art into the computer, work with color palettes, and export artwork in various formats. Knowledge of Corel Draw is a plus. You must be a licensed user of this software.

Solid design and conceptualization skills. Ability to “create something from nothing”

Ability to recognize current trends and styles and adapt artwork to emulate those designs.

Basic computer knowledge including how to use scanners, printers and email.

Compensation is based on the quality of your work. Once submitted all art becomes the property of Excel Sportswear.
 
This is a fully independent contractor position, no benefits or association with Excel  Sportswear as an employee is offered or suggested by this offer.   

Full Time Artist

Our artists are among the finest in the business... we expect nothing less. Cartooning, figure drawing, technical and automotive art as well as excellent layout and computer skills are all prerequisites. The only clipart you will find on our shirts is our own. If you are career oriented, have the abilities listed above, and have the ability to meet strict deadlines, then you may have what it takes to join our team!
